Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #5: Bongwonsa Temple and Nature Walk: "After visiting the Zen Buddhist Temple, Bongwonsa and attempting to see nature as a Taoist, answer this question: What is it about creation,..."
As I entered the temple, I felt a sense of peace and serenity. There is something about sacred places of worship (temples, churches, mosques, etc...) that makes one's soul feel at peace. This peace cannot be achieved in the busy life of the city.
I believe people use their religion to escape from the harsh realities of this cruel world. Also, religion brings one close to nature and being one with nature makes one's soul feel at rest. Furthermore, I believe human beings have the inherent curiosity to find out the truth about their religion and their creation. This curiosity is what prompts human beings to seek knowledge and the truth. It gives one's life a sense of purpose and meaning.
